Privacy Policy

How HP Profiles collects, uses and protects personal information submitted through this website, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Last updated: 1 August 2026

HP Profiles (ABN 43 421 943 350) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it. It is written to reflect how this website actually works — it is an information and enquiry website, not an online store.

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to personal information collected through hpprofiles.com and any enquiry you send us through it. It applies to HP Profiles as an Australian manufacturer and supplier of electrical conduit, ducting, fittings, enclosures and wiring accessories, operating from our sites in Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Personal information we collect

Information you give us

We collect personal information that you choose to provide, most commonly when you complete an enquiry form or contact us directly. This may include:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your telephone number
  • your company or trading name, and your role
  • the state or region your project is in
  • the product range or application you are enquiring about
  • any other details you choose to include in your message, such as sizes, quantities, project timing or specification requirements

You do not have to give us personal information. If you prefer, you can contact us by telephone. However, if you do not provide enough detail we may not be able to answer your enquiry properly.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure automatically records limited technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and version, device type, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit. This information is used for website security, diagnosing faults and understanding general usage patterns. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

With your consent, this website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site and to improve its content, navigation and performance. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, interactions, referral source, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser information, and visit dates and times.

Google Analytics is configured to load only after you accept analytics cookies through our consent banner. If you reject analytics cookies, Google Analytics will not be activated. You can withdraw or change your choice at any time through the cookie preferences control on this website. We do not use Google Analytics information for advertising profiles or sell it to third parties.

Google may process analytics information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Google handles this information under its own privacy terms and data-protection arrangements. You can also limit analytics through your browser settings or Google’s available opt-out tools.

Some pages embed Google Maps so you can view locations and obtain directions. When a map loads, Google may set cookies and collect information under its own privacy policy. Blocking third-party content may prevent maps from loading, but the location address and contact details remain available.

How we use personal information

We use the personal information you provide to:

  • respond to your enquiry and provide the information, specifications or documentation you have asked for
  • route your enquiry to the right team or branch, including our Victorian, Queensland and Western Australian operations
  • provide technical and product support before and after a purchase through a distributor
  • maintain a record of our communications with you and your organisation
  • administer, secure and improve this website and the information published on it
  • meet our legal, regulatory, warranty and product-compliance obligations

We only use your information for the purpose you gave it to us, for a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, or where you have consented or the law permits or requires it.

Marketing communications

We may occasionally contact you about products, technical updates or changes to our range where that is relevant to your enquiry or your existing relationship with us, and where permitted under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe option, and you can ask us to stop at any time using the contact details below. Opting out of marketing does not affect our ability to respond to your enquiries.

When we disclose personal information

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We may disclose it in limited circumstances:

  • to service providers who help us operate this website and our business, such as our website platform, hosting and email providers, where reasonably necessary for them to perform that service
  • to a distributor or stockist where you have asked us to help you source product locally, and only with your knowledge
  • to our professional advisers, such as accountants, insurers and lawyers, where reasonably required
  • where disclosure is required or authorised by Australian law, a court or a regulator

Where we engage service providers, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles and only for the purpose we engaged them for.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the platforms we rely on to host this website and deliver email are operated by providers who may store or process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information remains protected in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include restricting access to information within our business to those who need it, using reputable platforms and services, and applying appropriate technical and administrative safeguards.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we take reasonable care, we cannot guarantee the security of information you send us over the internet.

We retain enquiry records for as long as needed for the purpose they were collected, to maintain our commercial and warranty records, and to meet our legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Please contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.

We will respond within a reasonable period. In the limited circumstances where we cannot give you access or make a correction, we will explain why in writing.

Privacy complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information or breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first so we can investigate and try to resolve the matter. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Third-party links

This website may link to third-party websites, including those of distributors, standards bodies and industry organisations. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any website you visit through a link from ours.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, our website or the law. The current version is always published on this page, with the last updated date shown at the top.
